Buy Locally

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out, that most items in today's markets are imported from other places. Some are of good quality, while others are lacking in any good quality, and lacking the desire to purchase a second item.
If you take control of this situation, "grab the bull by the horns" so to speak. You can not only lower your prices while shopping, but you will find better quality products in place of so many of the inferior products.
One way, is to buy locally. If someone in your town makes items, buy from them, rather than the store.
Perhaps someone has a field or garden that has vegetables for sale. They certainly are not going to cost more than the store, so why not buy from your local farmer? You get the freshest there is, and you help to cut out the middle man, that is making money off of your hard work.
By buying locally, your are supporting your city, county, state, and government. By buying products made in other countries, you are not supporting the U.S.A., but instead, another country.
Buy wisely, and in the long run, you will find that you have better made products; lower cost products in your own city; and you will feel wonderful knowing that our nation is growing and developing, rather than going down.
At the supermarket, don't use that machine to check out with. Instead, wait for a checker to get open. A wait in line, is better than using that machine to check out. Did you notice that those machines are replacing real people, that need jobs? Don't use the machines.

Shirleybill, when you said don't use the machines, I had the same sentiment about bank tellers. As you notice the teller machines are taking the place of the real thing. I totally agree with you about buying locally. Good hub.
